Handwoven dupion is a woven beautifully shiny,crisp type 100% silk fabric. Uneven threads in weft are characteristic in dupion silk. This fabric is shinier and has more visible uneven threads than our normal dupion. Part of the colors have warp and weft in different colros which makes the surface to glimmer in two tones.
”Papery” dupion is the most commonly used silk in the world; it is used for clothes and interior decoration. Dupion silk can be used for dresses, blazers or thousers, it is popular also in wedding and evening gowns. In interior decoration dupion is used for curtains and pillow covers. A substantial underlining must be used in curtains to protect the fabric from sunlight.
