Dupion is a woven beautifully lustrous,crisp type 100% silk fabric. Uneven threads in weft are characteristic in dupion silk. ”Papery” dupion is the most commonly used silk in the world; it is used for clothes and interior decoration. This dupion silk fabric i can be used for dresses, blazers or thousers, it is popular also in evening gowns. In interior decoration dupion is used for curtains and pillow covers. A substantial underlining must be used in curtains to protect the fabric from sunlight.
