Dupion silk is a woven beautifully lustrous,crisp type 100% silk fabric. Uneven threads in weft are characteristic in dupion silk. ”Papery” dupion is the most commonly used silk in the world; it is used for clothes and interior decoration. Dupion silk can be used for dresses, blazers or thousers, it is popular also in wedding and evening gowns. In interior decoration dupion is used for curtains and pillow covers. A substantial underlining must be used in curtains to protect the fabric from sunlight.
